On the other spectrum you have Veteran's Helmets. 

It will stop most bullets. But the aramid nano fiber expiration has gone past. By 10 years. It should still work somewhat, but don't expect it's original rating will still be up to spech. 
As long as you dont try to stop a tech weapon with your noggin in a firefight, you should be good!
